Woo Kee Loong (Kwai Yue) Cake Shop
has been in business for half a century, continuously
making and promoting
Chaozhou-style
cakes, sweets,
pastries, buns
and so on. This work is compiled in the spirit of promoting traditional
craftsmanship and culture. As there are numerous kinds of products, this work is published in several
volumes. It aims at promoting the fine tradition to a younger
generation so that young
people can recognise the essence of tradition and in turn brighten it up and
perpetuate it. There is a great variety of
Chaozhou-style
food prevailing throughout Chaozhou.
This work is rich in content and also idyllic in nature, introducing to
the reader ways of tasting, viewing and enjoying the food as well as craftsmanship
and culture. Its content is systematically arranged, and precise messages and data can be
retrieved conveniently. The reader will have a deep
impression of
Chaozhou-style
food upon finishing this volume.
As the author is not a
gifted scholar, this volume is completed with great difficulties,
hence omissions are
inevitable. It is the author¡¦s pleasure to have the reader¡¦s response and
comments so that improvements can be made to future editions.
